Kit was unsatisfactory, Yarn is bad and instructions are worse.
I bought this kit thinking it was a great way to learn a new skill. It wasn’t. This kit at least wasn’t.The items are of poor quality. The yarn comes loose and it’s hard to be a beginner starting with it.The video instruction seem simple but they leave a lot of context out and they get away from you in the blink of an eye. Comment are turned off on videos for a reason I assume. It sucks cause so I can’t even relate to other trying to learn similarly.Videos have horrible and lack a good paces. The last thing I want to do is have to drop everything to restart the video every 10 seconds. For a product like this the video instructions are very bad. I had to look elsewhere for direction. It’s like someone just recorded it without any interest in teaching the person watching.After about 4 hours in I’m starting to get the hang of it but no thank to their useless videos.

Useless instruction manual – Use Youtube
The kit does come with everything you need, start to finish. The quality of the materials is better than you’d expect and it’s pretty easy to work with. I’m most impressed by the quality of the crochet hooks, but everything material wise is also very nice for the price point. However, the instruction booklet is beyond useless. This can be remedied by watching the YouTube tutorials, which you’ll find much more helpful and it’ll help you understand how and why the pamphlet is garbage. A couple examples would be that the booklet has you create two chain stitches to start a magic ring – there should only be one. A few of the rounds don’t make sense until you see it, but several rounds misprint the pattern. I had to restart these projects several times before admitting defeat and checking YouTube and I’d absolutely recommend using YouTube over the included booklet.

If you’re a true beginner, this is not for you!!
Don’t get this if you’re a true beginner! The kit gives you everything you need and does have instructional videos to go with (though I found other videos more helpful) but if you’re not already familiar with crocheting and used to the coordination and technique, this will be the most infuriating experience. The yarn is too thin and frays too easily, making the more complicated stitches almost impossible to do because pieces of the yarn keep getting pulled vs an entire loop. Also, when you start to get into the increase stitches, it’s so difficult to go back through stitches because, as the yarn is so this, the stitches and quite small & tight making it so hard to really tell where you’re supposed to stitch. I can see this being a really cute kit for those with experience, but as someone who has never crocheted before, all it’s done is make me angry. I’ll be getting a different kit that uses bigger yarn & hooks.

The step-by-step video instructions were extremely helpful. The instruction manual was helpful too, but its nice to watch the video and see someone actually performing the step. My daughter also loved that the kit included everything you need to make these lovely planters! When you consider the price and everything included in the kit – it’s a great value! I plan to purchase more of these kits in the future! Highly recommend to anyone who crochets!
