Discovering the Bible: Insights, History, and Reflection – Not Just For Beginners
The book begins by stressing that the premise of this work and the bible is to come from the understanding that God created all things. As we begin with Genesis, the author shares different theories of the beginning, the history of creation.The study guide gave me a new perspective of different aspects I wasn’t aware of. I grew up in a Christian home, read the bible early in my life, but always read through it, skipping all the “so and so begat so and so….” It’s nice having the insights provided by the author, and the reflections to consider my own thoughts around not only the author’s work but also comparing it to the bible. The study guide takes sections of the bible to help one dive deeper into the word of God. I also enjoyed the historical time periods and relating them to the bible and I learned that the Torah is the first 5 books of the bible – I had no idea.Some books of the study guide are mentioned in order and in more detail, while others have a brief mentioning. In addition to the reflections, there are activities primarily in the 2nd half of the guide. While this guide is designed for beginners, it is also a great resource for those who are well-versed. I found this enlightening and helpful in learning and knowing more about the bible.

Or even teenagers who attend Youth Meetings within the Church. It’s a great book. You just have to read it.I give it a full 10/10 .Honestly, if you want to get closer to God, read this and reflect, then do the Study Workbook part which is about half way through the book. Great for a Christmas Present, Birthday present or just as a surprise.
