THINK AGAIN – Very Flimsy, Poor Quality
Despite their appearance and claims of “heavy duty” steel construction, these garden tools are NOT sturdy or durable. Literally, the very first time I stuck the spade into sandy topsoil that had already been tilled, the neck (i.e., the section of metal above the blade that connects to the handle) bent to so much that it rendered the tool useless.The problem is that the spades are made of a single sheet of “steel” (probably aluminum), and the neck is formed by bending the “steel” into the shape of a cylinder, which is then inserted into the plastic handle. If the neck were made of solid steel, or aluminum for that matter, it wouldn’t bend.I recommend that you spend a few extra bucks on a set of garden tools that have a solid neck. This product is just not worth your time, money, and energy.
