Amazing Kit with a Beautiful Instrument for an Amazing Price
Beautiful wood, excellent kit. Includes cleaning cloth, basic instruction manual (with links to videos, some easy songs, and further resources available), 3 sticker sheets for labeling the keys if you so want, a bag for all the extra goodies, plus a very sturdy carrying case for the kalimba + tuning hammer.This set is both affordable and satisfyingly complete for a beginner. I’m having a lot of fun learning and transcribing! The wood is beautiful and the instrument is good quality, especially for its price range.As for sound quality:It has a beautiful music-box sound and reverb. There are two holes in the back that can be used for some tone range and vibrato. I did notice that some of the higher keys (B5, C6, D6, E6) become hard to hear and need to be played with either more thumb-force and at the very edge of the key to sound nice. The penultimate keys on both ends (B5 and C6) don’t play very cleanly, as in: I can hear some overtones and even some adjacent keys sounding when I play them. I have tried to fix this with the tuning hammer and by shifting the keys a little, but so far, there isn’t a good fix. It’s not a huge issue in the end, especially for what I paid.All-in-all, an amazing purchase! I’m learning a lot about modal forms and transcribing with this instrument, so I’m advancing my music knowledge with a much more portable (and affordable) instrument than a piano. Extremely satisfied with this product. Thank you so much!

Beautiful sound and the travel case is made extremely well. Great price for a great sounding instrument. Comes with a hammer for tuning and a polish cloth as well as some stickers to mark your keys. Learn your favorite songs or just play random notes that sound good, either way it will sound amazing!

Tone and value
I’m new to the Kalimba but do read music. My daughter gave me one that she had but didn’t use. I enjoyed getting acquainted with the instrument but it wouldn’t stay in tune, so I looked for a new one and after doing research I decided on this Gecko. It is a beautiful Kalimba with a lovely tone. It holds it’s key and I was surprised at the vibration I felt when playing it. Certainly worth the money. Looks and plays like a more expensive one.

I’ve always admired the kalimba, but when I decided to get one for myself, Amazon was extremely daunting. I had 18 tabs open trying to pro-con each model of kalimba and eventually settled for this one because of the durable case and because the video of Remember Me that sounded so pure and beautiful. I was delighted with the extremely fast shipping, and I’ve barely put it down since it arrived.I would HIGHLY recommend this kalimba to ANYONE, and if you’re currently indecisive like I was, I would suggest this one to you. The sound is so incredibly clear, the case is extremely protective (and this zipper is sooo smooth) and I’m extremely happy overall with my purchase. I can tell this product is going to last a long long time. Tuning it was easy and straightforward. (I recommend the Universal Tuner app) One thing I’d say is important to know is that the stickers shown on the keys (numbers and notes) do not come adhered to the kalimba as I had assumed from the picture. I don’t think this is a con at all, I was able to put on the stickers exactly how I wanted them, but it’s good to note that this took a fair amount of time and some intricate work with scissors to make sure they fit on right. I’m a bit worried that they’ll come off, I accidentally bent the A applying it and it’s looking a bit peely already, but I believe it comes with extras for each letter and number, which makes me feel way better :)All in all, if you’re having trouble picking out the kalimba of your dreams, GO GECKO. Best decision I’ve made in a while. Smooth and beautiful with a GORGEOUS sound. Love this kalimba from the bottom of my heart already.

Great product
I am actually impressed with how much came with the Kalimba, the case feels sturdy and includes a place for your hammer. It also comes with a manual, stickers, rag and bag. The kalimba also sounds amazing, as heard in the video, note that the buzzing is just when I press down on a key still playing and is probably related to me being a beginner (and possibly short nails?) and not the kalimba itself. It also smells really good, which makes it feel premium.

What a beautiful little instrument! My teenage daughter wanted this, and she is very happy with everything about it. It came with a hard case and a soft case (fabric protective bag). In the hard case is the little tuning hammer, in it’s own little cozy spot in the protective foam. The inside of the case is also a velvety material, everything to protect the instrument well. Comes with a cleaning cloth as described. The sound is gorgeous, resonating nicely. The higher tones are of course not quite as resonant, but everything is tuned properly right out of the box and sound lovely. Easy to hold, small enough to take anywhere while big enough to carry the sound very well. An instruction booklet is included, care instructions, tuning, as well as song pages with QR codes for videos to learn music! I thought that was brilliant. Little stickers included for easily marking the tines with what notes they are, and numbering for easier learning. Sorry for long review, but I wanted to include as much as I could for someone like me who likes to know what they’re getting. It’s very soothing and relaxing, we are really pleased. This instrument is truly peaceful. Unlike those horrible xylophone toys for kids that make your ears feel like they are going to explode. If you or someone you love suffers from anxiety, this could be a great calming instrument for them! I say that from personal experience 😌

The Kalimba is exactly as you’d expect. Requires a little tuning but it comes with every accessory you can think of.It comes with tuning instructions, songs, case, etc …The Kalimba is a very easy to play and easy to learn instrument that produces beautiful sounds. GECKO made a very nice looking one with all the tools you’ll need. Definitly recommend it for beginners who want a budget instrument and easy to learn. I practice at night before falling asleep. It’s not too loud to disturb the appartment next to my bedroom wall.

Bought this on a whim during the 2020 prime sale. The only previous Kalimba I own is a $12 tourist gift from downtown Toronto; its amusing but nothing to write home about. This Gecko one on the other hand has a much nicer sound, comes with a case and all the accessories for a kid/adult friendly learning experience. I’ll echo some comments that others have made about the shorter keys not vibrating as much; but it’s bent metal so I’m not too surprised on that front.The only reason I dropped a star was the case had quite an order initially; I left it open for a few days and that’s vastly reduced.Overall, I have no real complaints. I can see myself sampling this into my other music in the feature – I’ve already put it through some granular synthesis for you synth nerds out there. Works great.Awesome!
