Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Product care

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

    Indispensable
I actually diligently studied every page of this book. Took about 60 hours of attentive study. There are about 300 pages of molecules, then each system of the body is covered and then more detail about herbs and their actions, an excellent materia medica, countless tables for cross reference (and a ton of other stuff I haven’t listed). It’s clear, organized, no-nonsense, emphasizing the importance of the whole plant, yet presenting lots of info on the constituents. And still Hoffman’s voice comes through. Even though I am more inclined to Chinese medicine, this is one of my all time favorite herbalism books. It surpasses the excellent herbalism courses available, going more deeply into the chemistry than most of them. It’s also easy to look stuff up in all the indices and tables.I have the print and Kindle edition and can recommend them both. The only issue with the print book is that I wish it were printed on sturdier paper because this is one of those books I pull off the shelf almost daily.I’ve been studying herbalism for maybe 7-8 years seriously and would consider this material for the intermediate/advanced student. Might work for the seriously ambitious beginner. Maybe. You don’t have to read it cover to cover as it is a fine reference, but the book as a whole is excellent and worth studying every chapter in order and with focused attention. This is just down-to-earth, intelligent Western herbalism and it is beautiful that Hoffman chose to share this depth of knowledge with us. And he sticks with Western. No TCM or Ayurvedic crutches. Those systems are great, but if you want to regard the Western style on its own merit, this is an important resource. If you’re serious, then this book is a must have.

The Best, Most Informative Text Book
This self-retired surgical nurse knows the importance of caring for and supporting/maintain a healthy body!Manufactured drugs are ok but this nurse has gone back to the ways of our ancestors .. before killer prescribed drugs! This book of knowledge is worth every penny it takes to bring it home! It is full of every plant-how to use it & how to grow and store it. Everything you need to know is in this bòok.This is but one book..I have many! Our grand & great-grand parents knew the importance of fresh grown herds-flowers-roots-seeds and how to use them.No more preaching! My advice to all who love to garden, who want to live for a very long time..get this book before its gone!Read it! Learn from it! Gather your seeds & plant the seeds! Water & tend them. Let them grow.Your book..your pkts will tell you when to harvest for best results and how to store them. I use clear and amber glass bottles & quart, half gallon & gallon jars.I hang fresh cut n cleaned herbs layed out in a 9 layered hanging dryer or I can use my 10 tray dehydrator. I also love to air dry by banding & hanging..I waste nothing!I will be reviewing all my books so stay tuned.THIS IS AT THE TOP OF MY “MUST HAVE” BOOKS!Everyone needs this book..especially in an Emergency!

    Textbook for herbal knowledge
I took an introduction to herbalism in April, 2024, and I bought this book in anticipation of the immersive weekend. It makes me feel like I’m back in college. 🤣 It’s very clinical, and it’s been a long time since I read a heavily science-based book. A lot of it is too advanced for me, but what I can follow is fascinating. It’s a fantastic book for reputable information when so much out there is questionable. I believe it should be a staple in anyone’s library who wishes to seriously study herbs and herbalism.

    The Real McCoy
You’ll need to be smart enough to tell if an item is useful (Filipendula Ulmaria, making pain medicine) or not so useful (Brassica Nigra, used for sandwiches). Either way, it is encyclopedic in scope of detail relating to herbs used, poultices, oil extracts, tincture (if it’s your thing). The Book is strongly aligned with herbalism AS medicine. It will not tell you current scientific opinion on the plants use, or biochemical agent isolation/extraction, or best method of procurement to such ends. I recommend this as a starting point for study into what I spoke of above. Alternatively this can be your end point if you’re interested in healing remedies from a homeopathic view I guess (we’ll say it’s not my field of expertise). Enough toe stepping, that’s the review.
