Very high quality bird feeder!
Received the two feeders today that I ordered last week. They are as good as I thought they might be, my only concern is if the spring will let the outer cage close the feeder openings when a squirrel gets on the feeder. It’s extremely well made with the lower part easily removable for proper cleaning of the feeder. Birds are using it already, now just waiting to see how it works with a squirrel on it. It appears to be very sturdy but squirrels are extremely destructive. They have bent up similar feeders similar to these and even chewing the feed openings larger even though the lower part had a metal piece at the bottom. These feeders have metal completely around the feed openings and I’m anxious to see how well they work. I’ve got my fingers crossed, I’m tired of buying feeders, but now I think I’ve found the best. I’ve had the feeders for a few weeks now and they work great. They are completely squirrel proof but you must keep them away from another branch on the tree. If the squirrel can reach it and keep from putting his weight on it he can still get to the seed. The problem I’ve had now is raccoons, they have managed to knock the feeder down two times. The first time it didn’t do anything to the feeder and it still had most of the seed in it. The second time, just yesterday after knocking the feeder down the raccoon managed to get two of the perches off. One was broken but the other was just off and bent. I straightened the one and got it back on. I shortened the other one and rebent it and it works perfectly. I’m really happy with the strength of these feeders. I put these feeders up where it is a real job for an animal to get them off but it’s easy for me. Right now I’m taking the one feeder in at night.

This is a great bird feeder. Easy to fill, squirrel proof and the birds love it. Will be purchasing a second one.

Actually squirrel proof! I have three of these feeders in my yard, I have tried many different “squirrel proof” feeders that the squirrels end up destroying, but not this one! Birds love it and squirrels can’t get the food!

Good capacity and effective
The design of this feeder is effective in excluding squirrels, and I like the larger capacity. It’s an attractive hunter green, and seems well made; the perches stay folded firmly down or up (if you bring it in at night). The outer metal grid is quite large, though: I’ve another feeder of this design with a crosshatched outer mesh. The finer grid provides more perches for “on-deck” birds awaiting a turn at a port, which I prefer.Birds immediately took to this feeder. It’s excellent with sunflower chips — hulled pieces of seed — which are pricey but save mess and give birds a lot of energy for relatively little work. It’ll stay in year ’round rotation as one of several feeding stations in my yard.

Seems mechanically sound
Seems to work mechanically correct…the squirrels havnt messed with it…I’ve had it out a couple days…my birds are still getting used to it…I previously had an open flat feeder. I ordered this one to foil the squirrels.Adding a review after having this up about a week. Watched the squirrels try try try to get food out of the feeder. They were foiled! It shuts the feeder ports right down when they put their paws on the spring loaded cage! Love it

It works!!!! The squirrels have tried to get to the seed but have been thwarted every time!!!! Definitely recommend this feeder if you’re tired of feeding the squirrels and not the birds!!!

Impossible to clean!
I loved this bird feeder until it was time to clean it. It worked great, kept off the squirrels, and the birds loved it. After having this for 10 months I had to take it down as it had moldy seed in the bottom. It was very hard to clean. Got a long rod and was able to get most of the gunk out. Then soaked it in dawn and water. Then in bleach and water and let it dry. Was ready to re-hang when I noticed there was still clumps of gunk under the bottom plate with no way to get to it or get it out. I will replace with something else. Sad that it only lasted 10 months for the price.

Nice size and keeps the squirrels out
It is a little challenging to get open to add the food but easier the more times you fill it. Decent quality for the price.
