Resonate Sound
LOVE it! The sound is beautiful and not tinny like some of the videos. I picked up the mallets and began making resonant sounds right way! My body and mind responded well. I like the carry case but wish there was an outside pocket with zipper for the mallets, book and picks. The song book contains several pages of simple well known songs like Auld Lang Syne. (Meh) It would be better if the song book had more than one meditative sequence. The size is very convenient to play. The color of the metal is a tad darker than photo which I like so numbers are easy to see. The twine/rope on sides is good quality, though it may be a challenge NOT to hang cool things off it. lol.

The sound is great and it is easy to use. You can use it to learn conventional songs within its octave. I more enjoy playing spontaneously, finding my own sound patterns and rhythms. In a way, it’s hard to play a wrong note, though I’ve enjoyed having a sense of creating.

Incorrect scale
I bought this drum because it claimed to be in D-major scale, but it was actually D flat major. I exchanged it for another like item, thinking that perhaps I got one that was just tuned incorrectly. The replacement was also D flat major. Just be aware of this if you are considering this item. However, even though the tuning wasn’t as described, the look and tone of this drum are quite nice.

Sounds really nice but I think the mallets are a little heavy to get a good sound out of the highest 3 notes, they just don’t rebound fast enough not to mute the note as you play it. Maybe with practice I can get it to sound right without using different mallets. It’s quite loud compared to the small drums,seems good quality. Overall, I like it

Very happy. Yes, 2 of the tongues aren’t perfect pitch, but if you pay attention and tap it just right, it’s o.k. A small earth magnet on the underside of the 2 tongues might remedy this. As it is, it’s o.k. Took it to a professional musician friend and in minutes he was rockin’ out – he w/ one mallet, his daughter the other. He’s actually going to order one himself after trying it. Myself, not so musically inclined, took about an hour to get some really nice sounds out of it. Beautiful sounds. Within a few hours I was playing songs in the book and making lovely notes. Very well worth the cost. Really nice carry bag included !! I would recommend getting the 15 note drum, more notes, more detailed music.
