Solar cell doesn’t work
I found this item on sale and decided to try it. It advertises strongly as solar: learn about solar, etc. but the solar cell provided does not work. After putting a meter across the cell in various conditions (including direct sunlight) and finding virtually zero output, I decided to wire in a separate battery pack I had on hand instead so that at least my kid could see the rest of it function.Using battery power the rest of the system does work, and the plastic parts are ok. The directions are a bit tough and parts difficult to assemble at times (especially for young kids), but I overall it does work.Too bad the item doesn’t function out of the box though, you shouldn’t have to provide and wire in a separate (not included) power source for something that claims total solar function.
