Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

This book, part of the acclaimed Norton Series on Interpersonal Neurobiology, brings interpersonal neurobiology into the counseling room, weaving the concepts of neurobiology into the ever-changing flow of therapy.
Neuroscientific discoveries have begun to illuminate the workings of the active brain in intricate detail. In fact, sometimes it seems that in order to be a cutting-edge therapist, not only do you need knowledge of traditional psychotherapeutic models, but a solid understanding of the role the brain plays as well. But theory is never enough. You also need to know how to apply the theories to work with actual clients during sessions.
In easy-to-understand prose, Being a Brain-Wise Therapist reviews the basic principles about brain structure, function, and development, and explains the neurobiological correlates of some familiar diagnostic categories. You will learn how to make theory come to life in the midst of clinical work, so that the principles of interpersonal neurobiology can be applied to a range of patients and issues, such as couples, teens, and children, and those dealing with depression, anxiety, and other disorders. Liberal use of exercises and case histories enliven the material and make this an essential guide for seamlessly integrating the latest neuroscientific research into your therapeutic practice.

Exactly What I Needed
As an AP Psychology teacher, Being a Brain-Wise Therapist provides the detailed background that I need to have in order to provide my students with a thorough understanding of the human brain, mind and nervous system. I actually will have to read it several times to retain the rich range and depth that it offers.

Siegel-esque
The author calls extensively on the works of Daniel Siegel, and rightfully so considering the impact that Siegel has in the world of neurobiology and behavior. At times the book is a bit tedious technically, yet makes its points in an emotionally warm manner. In one sense, this is a book for anyone with any kind of therapy or coaching practice. Perhaps it tries to do too much, as it cannot go into the depth required for establishing thorough therapeutic processes. Had the author wove threads through the various chapters, perhaps there would be more of a solid grounding in processes that work across disciplines. The author sort of leaves that thread building up to the readers. A great read overall.

A Must Read for Mental Health Professionals
I am a PhD student with an interest in neurobiology, and I love this book. It is both easy and interesting to read, much more so than many of the other books on this topic. It is directly applicable to my field of counseling. This book is a must read for anyone in the mental health field. Bonnie Badenoch is an incredible writer.

In Depth Information and Help with Interpersonal Neurobiology
I found this book to be extremely articulate and demonstrative of what I have found intuitively in my own practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. It further validated the helpfulness of therapeutic relationship with the client, art therapy, sand tray therapy/sand play, and other therapeutic tools that help bring about integration. Now I have the brain research, neurobiology terminology to help my clients understand what we are doing in therapy and how their brain “nets” play a role in their overall mental/emotional health. My clients are fascinated to learn about the brain and attachment and it has helped the therapeutic process along in many situations.

Every therapist needs this book!
Every therapist needs this book! Badenoch offers such a clear and (relatively) concise explanation of interpersonal neurobiology and inner community work. This book offers several exercises and tips on how to incorporate this kind of work into your practice.

Great for mind body therapists
This book has given me insight into how connected we are as humans and how sacred the therapy space is!

Validating and Mindblowing At The Same Time!
I found this book to be both insightful and practical in the application of interpersonal neurobiology as well as meaningful clinical intervention. If you have been trained in IPN you may find it to be basic and somewhat of a review. As someone fairly new to the genre however I am soaking up every bit of it. I find that I have to read it in chucks so that I can process and think about the information but with every page I feel more and more validated in the work that I am doing! I highly recommend this for anyone that has an interest in INP and/or ways to be really present and mindful as a practitioner. Thank you!

great accompaniment to the book.

I would agree with earlier review that this book is a must for every counsellor. I would disagree with another reviewer stating that neuroscience has been oversimplified in this book. This book serves intended purpose ‘A practical guide’.If you are a curious parent perhaps one of the parent oriented books here on Amazon (such as parenting from inside out by Dr D Siegel) would be more suitable as it would have a focus on a child.Being a beginner counsellor myself and a parent, I have benefited greatly from the insight of this well written easy to understand book. It helped me to spot a key signal from my own child which otherwise would have gone unnoticed. It helped me in my relationship with my other half as I can now see how ‘brain auto pilot’ is separate from conscious intend.Practical examples of real cases are invaluable and bring theory to life. I feel inspired by this book to continue my research in to the neuroscience. This is for sure a very worth while investment.

This was an exceptional read. It brought the mind body and brain into a wonderful spotlight. The way the book illuminates the brain function to guide the reader through the brain maze is amazing. This book is great for anyone looking to better understand the brain function.
