Even better than I was expecting!
These cards are flawlessly beautiful. They are built from highly sturdy material (to the point that I questioned multiple times if I was handling two cards and not one) and the colors are vibrant and captivating. Once you’ve separated each card after first opening the box, the cards glide along each other nicely and don’t stick to each other. They make for a VERY easy shuffle. Overall, they are gorgeous, unique, sturdy and eye-catching. I look forward to using them again and again!

AI Art. Edge coating shows wear within minutes
When I first opened the package, the cards looks amazing. I liked the art style and the shiny blue edges of the card gave the deck a nice sparkle.I found some of the cards were sticking together at the edges, so I carefully went through the deck separating each card without any horizontal movement that could damage them. Then I shuffled the deck a handful of times, and found the blue edges were already wearing and showing white. The deck without this edge coating likely would have held up far better.After the disappointing with the near-instant wear, I started looking more closely at the art, at least that still looked good, right? …After looking closely, I’m certain it’s all art generated by LLMs/AI. Every person’s hands are bizarrely deformed and there are several strange abnormalities that the art style hides well if you don’t look closely. The cups/pentacles/swords/wands often do not match the card number, or do not match the stained glass art style and look like they were photoshopped in.

Quality Control Issues, But Lovely Artwork
I got some sets for a research project I’m doing and I really love the new artwork, but not the flaws in this set. Many years ago, all we had was the old rider deck, with the cartoonish drawings and very simplistic coloration in bright reds and yellows, but this is beautiful, as to the artwork, and you can hardly spot the use of AI. There are three noticeable uses, where it’s what I’d call super-obvious, but they’re also very interesting, when you contemplate the meaning ascribed to the cards.That said, the reason for the three-star rating is the quality control issue. Nearly every card has scrapes or dings where there are actual gouges in the cards. One had a giant streak of a gouge into the card over a person’s face while others have them in other places. Then, beyond all that, there were a couple of cards with printing errors where there is a white dot surrounded by printer’s ink in a sort of mound, where the white is the blank page and the ink rises up around it. I got a replacement set and found so many defective cards that I hand selected the least-defective from each of two sets in order to craft what I’d call a four-star set (as to how many flawed cards remain). After cherry-picking the best cards, I have four with gouges and around ten with printing errors.Basically, they need better printers. The art’s great. The book is perfunctory, so you’ll need a better book to use with this if you want it to be much fun, but the cards themselves have lovely imagery. The problem is the printing.
