The Mandle: Mountain Man
So I bought three different brands of candles with similar scents, and of comparable size. Mostly I was concerned with their scent potency. Taking off the lid and just smelling them without burning them, they all smelled fantastic.After burning each one separately, I have them ranked here based on how strongly scented they were in my small one-bedroom apartment:1) Nature’s Wick: Forest PineStrongest scent, could smell it in every room when it was placed in the central part of my apartment. Comes in a clear thick glass jar, with a wooden lid and a wooden wick that crackles when you burn it. The flame stays small.2) The Mandle: Mountain ManSecond strongest in terms of scent, it filled most of my apartment. Comes in a real metal paint can, you have to use a metal washer to open it. The wick is cotten, burns as you’d expect.3) Manly Indulgence: Woodland EscapeThird place in terms of scent strength. Comes in a dark blue frosted glass jar with a wooden lid, has a wooden wick that crackles when you burn it. The scent lingered mostly in the one room where I burned it, couldn’t smell it elsewhere in my apartment.As you may have assumed, I like the smell of the woods, particularly conifer trees. All three of these candles smell amazing.I grew up in rural Missouri and developed an affinity for cedar. Through my vacation and camping trips to Colorado, northwest Wyoming, and northwest Montana, I’ve expanded that affinity into pretty much all conifer trees. I even wear cologne derived from these types of trees.My mom used to make candles when I was younger, so I grew up around candles and have a pretty solid understanding and high expectation for their performance. I know that not every batch made is exactly the same. Also the age of the candle affects their scent strength too, as it fades over time due to the scented oil naturally evaporating. A tight lid helps with preventing this.I don’t know when each of these candles were poured, so I can’t say every candle of the above listed brands and scents will always be ranked this way. For example, if I bought another “Manly Indulgence: Woodland Escape” it may be quite potent and end up at the top of my list. That’s just the nature of candle making. It’s like baking a cake, you can try but it won’t always be exactly the same each time you pull it out of the oven.But based on buying one of each for the first time and burning each of them, this was my impression. I am SALIVATING over this candle!
The flavor profile of this candle is 110% accurate. When I first saw this candle, I instantly bought it and could not wait to get it. It was delivered while I was at work, so I went home on my lunch break and brought it in to share with the office. For some the smell was too strong, but they are weak. For bacon minded meat lovers like myself, it is to die for. I even had girls coming up to my desk just to stick their nose in the not yet lit candle.Pros:Authentic Scent: I haven’t even lit the candle yet and my half of the office has transformed into a cozy morning by the campfire with plenty of bacon for the whole group. The aroma of sizzling hickory smoked bacon that fills the air triggers an arousal of my stomach and salivary glands.Long-Lasting: You don’t even need to light this candle to enjoy its benefits, meaning it can last forever!Cons:Cravings: Be warned—this candle might trigger intense bacon cravings.Pets: My boss’s dog tried eating my candle.What this candle lacks:I think it would have been more appropriate for the candle to be made with at least some lard instead of all soy wax.A crackling wood wick would complete the experience and might lead to feelings of euphoria.

Not what i hoped for
I was hoping this smelled more like wd40 or like a mechanic shop. My boss loves the smell of wd40 as it reminds him of a passed loved one. It has a little bit of a mechanic smell but also still has a strong homey candle like smell. Not so much of a manly grease smell.I love how the candle is in a paint can looking container with a washer to open the lid. The candle burns nicely and it’s not too overpowering.

Does not have “stoner” smell at all.
This is basically just a lightly scented perfume candle for more money then I would want to spend on a bad quality perfume candle. I do like that it comes in the mini paint can, but this was a complete rip off.

Good quality soy candle with cool packaging. The scent is definitely hickory smoke but very little bacon scent, if any. It smells like the smoker is literally inside your house… So if that’s your thing, get it. I was personally hoping for more bacon, less smoke.

Incredible smell! Like real bacon!
I got this for my husband as a 16th wedding anniversary gift since the traditional gift is “wax”. He loves bacon so this was the perfect gift! The smell is amazing. We lit it for only a few minutes and even afterwards the smell of bacon wafted through our home. Love it!
