Worth the money definitely!!! I’ve already come back and ordered another set just so I could have a few more. They are excellent lanterns. Very bright lights. They are so small and lightweight that you wouldn’t think they would be this bright but they are! They are easy to use. Very durable. Very functional. They can be used for so many things! It’s great to always have some on hand in case of emergencies! Magnet strength.

Great to have around the house
Great purchase for EMERGENCY & daily use. It does not take up much counter space, easy to use with one sliding motion, great durable quality, shines brightly & can be seen from far distances. It is also light weight & not a burden to carry. I have never tested it submerged in water, but it has been used in a light rainfall with no longer term issues. I live in a neighborhood not well lit, so this particular product is my “Go To” accessory for walking my dog in the evenings, taking out the trash & my grandson’s enjoy playing with it on their sleepovers.

Fantastic lights at a bargain price; I love them
I bought a four-pack of these Etekcity lanterns years ago and I love them. In fact I returned here today to purchase some more of them for a couple of my relatives. I have used mine for power outages due to severe winter weather and thunderstorms and these lights performed beautifully and illuminated the entire downstairs. One of my neighbors actually came over and asked if my electricity had somehow been restored and of course I said no, and that I have these awesome lanterns that throw a surprisingly amount of nice white light. He thought I had somehow had my power restored or that maybe I had a generator running because my downstairs looked so bright. He was so impressed that he ordered a four-pack of them too. I particularly like that the hue of these lanterns is a “cool white” which is a very white light; not that awful yellowish tint which I cannot stand. These are a nice white light similar to a fluorescent light. I’m pleased that these little lanterns throw a lot of white light. And the batteries will last quite a while too. I ran one of mine as a test for close to 50 hours non stop to see how long the batteries would last. I have Eneloop high capacity rechargeable batteries installed in mine and it works out very well as those are a very low self discharge type of battery and they hold their charge extremely well. LED’s don’t use a lot of “juice” so you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck with these lanterns. You certainly cannot beat the price of them. I hope this might be of help to someone considering purchasing them. You’ll be as pleased as I am, I’m sure. Happy lighting!

Very Good Small Lanterns
I bought a four pack of the Etekcity lanterns for my family of four to take camping. So far I am really liking these little lanterns. They were purchased as a replacement for a single rechargeable battery lantern by C***man that would no longer charge.Pros:Compact size (see others photos) – These are about the same size as a large consumer can (not a #10 commercial) of soup!Good light output for their size”Adjustable” light output (more details in the comments below)Easy to carry or to hang as neededRun on 3 “AA” batteriesGood battery lifeConsEasy to open further than desired thus releasing more light than neededLight is the typical blue-white of LEDsEmitted light has a x like pattern of shadowAlthough these lanterns are individually not nearly as bright as the previous one, the combined light output is significantly greater than the unit they replace and they are smaller. These units say that the light output is variable. This is sort of true. While you can adjust the amount of light you see coming out of the lantern by opening or closing the top of the lantern more or less, all of the LEDs are still running at full power. This will only matter if you are using this lantern while backpacking or otherwise away from a source of fresh batteries as there is no true low power mode. In addition, we found that the method for adjusting the amount of emitted light allowed the lantern to “fall” open while carried and increase the amount of emitted light sporadically. We also found that the light emitted from these is the typical very high color temperature (blue-white) light of LEDS. While this is not a true negative, we did find that these lanterns did significantly affect our color perception.Battery life appears to be good based on four days of camping and using these for at least 1 or 2 hours each night, along with the kids playing with them before and after the trip for a couple of days) with no noticeable drop off of brightness. The size and weight of these lanterns is excellent use back pack camping. My only concern would be battery life as I have not tested this yet. I have not yet tested the durability of these much yet. One was dropped from a picnic table on to grass and was fine but that is as far as we have tested them.I will update this review as I use these lanterns more and gain experience with them. if you have any questions feel free to ask me and I will try to answer.

Mighty and Bright
These little lanterns are small and mighty! Effective for power outages and camping. They can be set on a table, carried or hung by the aluminum handles. These are LED, so a very bright blue cast. The set offered here comes with batteries too. Note: there is a plastic strip within the battery slot at the base when shipped. Remove before use.

Work great. Provide plenty of light, which can be adjusted by changing the height of the lantern. The collapsible style makes it easy for storage or carrying in a backpack, etc. Great for travel, camping, or home.

My family loves these pop up lanterns. They are compact enough to leave on couch-side tables, in bathroom cabinets, next to beds, in camping gear and in cars. I bought these for my elderly parents in law during a power cut when they lost light, heating and cooking. Candles were too much of a fire hazard. Hopefully when they have another power cut these will help light each room. They have a compartment in the top to store the batteries when not needed which is very helpful and they close down to a very manageable size to store. They are metal and not plastic and so feel sturdy when unscrewing the battery compartment etc. I liked them so much I have ordered some for myself and now my mother wants some too.

I can’t comment on durability as I bought these for a Storm Emergency Kit to sit in a cupboard until needed. I was very happy with the price & wouldn’t have been surprised if they were priced the same for individual lanterns. I was also pleasantly surprised to see they came with batteries included. There are little plastic strips pushed between battery & contact to ensure they don’t corrode during storage. After testing the first lantern, I re-inserted the plastic strips to ensure they could always store their own battery in the emergency kit.For price, quality of construction, size & included batteries, I am happy to recommend this product.
