My butt is a little numb
So this is my first zafu, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to other than normal cushions. Let me start by saying it is very sturdy. I’ve had it for probably a month now, and there are no tears or bugs. Seems, (and the seams) to be well made.Everything everyone else said is about true. I started by meditating with it out of the box. This was a bit too firm. I removed about a cup of stuffing. Went about a week with this level of stuffing. Still too firm. Removed about another cup.It’s still firm, but there’s a lot more movement and a little easier to reposition. It is still not very comfortable. I guess I could remove more and it might be better, but I think it’s the nature of the buckwheat filling. It ain’t no memory foam, to put it that way. But, that doesn’t really bother me because meditation isn’t necessarily about comfort.I will say, after about 20 min, my butt bones get a little numb and sore. This might be tmi, but it’s also hard to fart… if that’s a concern XPI do enjoy this zafu. It looks nice and it’s just nice to have a designated cushion for meditation. It does lift me up off the ground to get my feet and knees where they need to be for proper posture. It is relatively light and easy to move.I don’t think removing stuffing is too hard. Just use a 1/4 cup measuring cup and remove a bit at a time.Not bad. I would probably buy from them again just because of their values and the fact they employ refugees. I might just go with a different stuffing type for my own personal needs.
