Fantastic Sprinkler – Perfect for My Lawn!

Great Product
I generally hold off on writing a review until I’ve used the product for a while. Well, I’ve been using this sprinkler for two summers. Here’s the deal: It distributes water very evenly. It’s pretty close to natural rain fall. It’s easy to control the width being watered. I have a front area that’s 60′ x 80′, and I have a side area that’s only 10′ wide. The sprinkler can be adjusted to work in both places. It’s mechanically sound. I’ve had no issues with sticking parts or clogging. It just works. Great sprinkler.

Pretty good sprinkler, not necessarily long lasting
I’m purchasing my fourth Melnor XT today, my first one was purchased maybe 4 years ago. They are good, adjustable sprinklers- I have a number of beds that have wonky shapes and I’m almost always able to get it adjusted to fit the bed. The downfall is that it’s all plastic, and something breaks after about a year, year and a half. The gears went in two so they no longer oscillated, the adjustment piece to narrow the field is broken in one I have now, and despite my best efforts to clean, some of the holes on each will stop putting out water so I get a strip that doesn’t get any water. Despite knowing its short life span, I still find it a good sprinkler. I once purchased a much more expensive all metal sprinkler hoping it would last longer. It did not.

LOTS of adjustments, good range, and appears very sturdy
This review is for the Melnor Metal Turbo Sprinkler 65154AMZ.We bought this on Amazon because of its good reviews, and so far, a good performer!I dislike reviewing something after only 3 uses, but this Metal Turbo certainly appears sturdy, and heavy enough not to be easily upset by my bumpy yard (never to be featured Southern Living magazine!).I could almost give this thing a 4, because of all the ways to adjust–adjustments I’ve not seen on this type of sprinkler! Because I just didn’t turn it on and adjust the back and forth, I could adjust the angle of the nozzles, then the back and forth sweep! The first time I put it into use, it was windy, so I had FUN adjusting this thing to cope with the wind!It’s got nozzle adjustments from wide angle to straight up; it’s got stops to adjust the thing’s sweep: from most of the way over each way, to barely moving off vertical! Seriously, I must have been out there for a half hour or more, TWEAKING; the thing is cool! OH, it also features a quick disconnect fitting, one that’s useful at times. Lest we forget to mention, it’s got a water shut-off to the sprinkler, right on the sprinkler, to keep a person dry while they tweak it.That’s it. I’ll know more next spring, but right now, we’ll only get to use it a time more or two, then wait til the grass needs watering. Oh, if you tire of buying Chinese, this Melnor (not sure about other models) is made in Taiwan, known for generally making good stuff! Bless y’all and happy shopping.

Wide Coverage – Reliable Operation
This sprinkler is similar to another model of the same Melnor brand that I have used successfully for a couple of years. It had an automatic shutoff timer which I did not need when I bought this one. This model has the same sprinkling performance but a lower price.When I expanded my garden, I needed to cover a larger area, which is why I bought this sprinkler. I’ve been pleased with its performance. Both sprinklers are connected to a dual output hose timer that automatically waters our garden on a sequential schedule. That eliminates having to move or rearrange the sprinklers and ensures that my garden is irrigated regularly even if I’m away from home.As expected, this sprinkler has provide reliable performance and a good watering pattern.

This thing is awesome. You can really set a legit customized area for watering. I know my water pressure isn’t great, but I think you’d need some serious PSI to hit the fully claimed SQFT. Was durable all summer, very user friendly and hasn’t failed yet!

Love this sprinkler! I havent used a lawn sprinkler in decades but I am using a lawn company now and some of the applications require watering the lawn so I had to get something. I am not at all an expert on the size of an area, so I cannot attest to the 4000 sq ft claim, but I can say that I have a HUGE front yard and I only had to move the sprinkler 3 times (actually a bit more because I had to figure out the settings and the right place in the yard but I marked 3 positions in the yard).Its super-easy to connect and use. I didnt use the quick connect accessory that it comes with because I dont have those connections on anything else – because I have never had any that didnt leak and pretty much hate them – so I cant tell you if the quick connect accessory works as it should or not. As good as the sprinkler is, I would expect that it does work.I love all the adjustments that you can make to the amount of water being sprayed and the spray area – that is actually what I like most about it. The adjustments allow you to be very intentional about where you want the water and minimizes wasting water by watering the driveway, the street, or your neighbors yard.Yes – its all plastic, but isnt most everything these days. It is lightweight and feels durable. The connection to the hose is water tight and there is no leaking anywhere within the unit. The water goes in where it should and comes out where it should. I believe that if you dont treat it like a caveman or let it sit out in the sunlight all the time when not in use, it should last about as long as you can expect a $35 appliance to last.Very happy with my purchase – highly recommend!

There are multiple settings and can cover a decent sized yard.It has some weight to the base, so not flimsy.I left it outside on the lawn over 2 weeks during near freezing temperatures and it worked fine afterwards.

We have restrictions as to size and shape of the lawn areas. This sprinkler works ! We are having a terrible heatwave right now and the sprinkler is used twice daily. Adjusting for the cover area is easy, many different scenarios.It appears to be well made, yes, it’s made out of some kind if plastic but hopefully a decent material.So far, i love our new sprinkler.

Haven’t used one of these oscillating sprinklers for years so decided to give one a go once again. Back-in-the-day build quality was more of an aluminum build with a few plastic bits thrown in. So yeah this one essentially being “all” plastic does detract some from it feeling premium, yet the multi-adjustments and its operation more than makes up for that. Time will tell how it’ll stands up but for now we are quite happy with this sprinkler overall as it is very versatile doing a great job.
