Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Product care

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

    A very good Book!!
I’ve been playing guitar for many years, practicing across various genres such as bossa, ballads, rock, folk, and more. For a long time, I have performed at weddings and events. I’ve spent a lot of time practicing self-study and working with chords and progressions that I’ve learned over the years, but often without fully understanding the theory behind them.I really like this book because it teaches theory from the very beginning and progresses gradually. It presents the information in a way that is easy to follow, measuring the content chapter by chapter so you can review, understand, and memorize it effectively, focusing on what’s important. There are no intimidating sheet music with notes; it’s based on the guitar freetboard and positions.I’ve been reading it from the start as suggested, and it’s true – it’s easier to progress with the theory fresh in your mind from the previous chapters. I highly recommend getting this book

Music Theory for Guitarists, the Complete Method
“Music Theory for Guitarists, the Complete Method” is an exceptional three-volume resource for guitarists of all levels rolled into one book. This book demystifies the complexities of music theory, making it accessible and engaging, unlike other theory books that I’ve found dry and overly academic. The author’s clear explanations and practical examples help bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and their application on the guitar. One of the standout features is the structured approach, which gradually builds your understanding from “The Musical Alphabet” through learning the fretboard, chords and chord progressions, to more advanced topics like modes, scales and keys. The exercises and practice tips are incredibly useful, ensuring that you can immediately practice and apply what you’ve learned.Whether you’re a beginner looking to understand the fundamentals or an experienced player aiming to deepen your knowledge of theory, this book is a must-have. It’s not just a theory book; it’s a roadmap to becoming a more confident and versatile guitarist. Highly recommended!

This book stands out in the crowded world of guitar playing/theory books
There are a lot of good reviews here already so I won’t go into great detail, but in brief: if you’ve been just kind of messing around with a guitar for a while and you like it but you don’t know a lot about music theory and you feel like you’re missing some crucial pieces to get you where you want to be with the instrument, this is the book for you. It puts guitar-centric music theory in a very accessible place, and also gives you some basic tools right away that exponentially broaden the things you can do on the fretboard. Then, as you get deeper into the books, you can let it get as complicated as you want it to be…or not. Even if I’d stopped at Book 1, it would’ve been worth the time and $$.If you want to play better, have more fun, and better understand both the guitar and music in general, this is the one. I doubt I’ll buy another general guitar instruction/theory book.

    Guitar Theory.
Very clear and concise approach to music theory with a focus on guitar.I teach piano and guitar and the usual theory books are generally more piano-oriented. They get more detailed than a typical guitarist, wanting to play just for enjoyment, wants or needs.James Shipway has remedied that with his wonderful theory that starts out with the basics, and each unit has clear instruction without being overwhelming. I very much enjoy the question/answer at the end, to make sure the student understands what was taught and since I’m usually teaching this orally, makes it easy to quickly assess if the student understands. The book follows a carefully designed plan that builds upon the knowledge of each previous unit and also was designed with a developing guitarist in mind. Each step will be easily incorporated into any method book or style the guitarist wishes to study.Kudos!

Worth the money for a beginner.
Working my way through the material and it is easy to understand for a complete beginner. Glad I purchased the three volume set as it is very comprehensive. I like the short chapers and review material at the end of each lesson.

  6. Dave Raynsford

This three volume format is a must for those guitarists wishing to improve their knowledge and understanding of music theory. The material is most relevant and provides a degree of instruction that is not only interesting to the reader, it is entertaining and easily “digestible” in a straight – forward presentation format. All in all, an excellent referral resource for your music library!DR

Llegó el libro que tanto anhelaba. Ahora sí voy a aprender teoría musical aplicada a la guitarra.En la parte de atrás trae unos rayones, pero lo que importa es el contenido 🤘🤗

  8. Roger Eugster

I find the real merit of James Shipways “Music Theory for Guitarists” in his brave didatical procedure. He teaches step by step – really – to make sure that everybody can follow the important steps and understand the concepts.”Brave” means: As a teacher myself it is absolutely important to deliver such a meticulous procedure. And brave means also be patient, not to rush the students and give them the opportunity to check their understanding: The exercises and solutions are very useful. In this way the important foundations are secured. And also the very user friendly conversational style helps. In short: congratulation, Mr. ShipwayAll the best and greetings from Switzerland

  9. Nigel James Tucker

I have completed book 1, and although I am pretty confident with my musical theory, this book made it very clear, and there were quite a few “Lightbulb ” moments, when , thanks to the very clear text, I managed to joint the dots on a LOT of music theory.

  10. Kingsuk Paul

    Easy to understand.
