Recommended Recipe – Endless Uses
Caramel Ingredients: 1 can coconut cream, separated from the water 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 pinch of salt 2-4 Tbsp Nature Restore Acai Powder (depending on how deep you want the color) Other Ingredients:
Firm green applesSticks (gathered and washed)Parchment paper
Not-So Poison Apples Instructions:
1. Put the creamy part of the coconut cream into a saucepan set at medium-low heat and whisk in the dark brown sugar.
2. Cook at this temperature for 20-25 minutes, stirring almost constantly and lifting off the heat when it bubbles up to the point that it might overflow.
3. If it maintains so much heat that you keep having to lift it off, reduce the heat slightly. Should be at a full, rolling boil but not boiling over.
4. Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla, salt, and acai powder.
5. Pour it into a glass bowl or pan to cool. This creates a very thick but pourable caramel sauce.
6. Remove stems from apples and insert sticks to form a nice handle for dipping
7. Dip apples into caramel and place on parchment paper to cool and harden.

A Convenient Alternative to Having to Buy Juice or Frozen Packs.
If you are like me who likes to add acai berry into your shakes and drinks, yet does not want to buy them in frozen packs that takes a lot of space in your fridge or juice that could expire within a week or two, this is a very convenient alternative. In powder form, the active antioxidant does not oxidize as fast until you mix it. This powder seems slightly moist in powder form. I suppose it is normal because if you look at the juiced form of acai berry, it is a little thicker than many other juices.Also see my other review of strawberry powder from this company:”I use this along with this company’s acai berry powder in my “morning-tonic” everyday to help me recover from my workout faster. Both of these powder are know to reduce inflammation, which aids muscle recovery. They are also high in anti-oxidants. I believe this is what gives me energy throughout the day as I am cutting back on coffee. I also put the strawberry powder in my son’s oatmeal mixed with milk to give some flavor. The powder is kept very dry and very fine. Best of all, they are flavorful and organic!”Aside from this specific product, I generally like the flavor of acai berries. They somehow has a tea-like hint to its flavor. Very fragrant!

I add this powder to my green drink daily. The Acai mixed in very well. It has a nice mild flavor and does not over power my drink. Acai tastes slightly tart to me. I love that the Acai powder is wild harvested. The color of the Acai is so vibrant and beautiful. This 8 oz portion has 75 servings so this will last me for a long time. At first I assumed adding Acai to my smoothies would add a lot of sugar but there is only 1 carb in each teaspoon serving. I appreciate that this Acai powder is the entire berry and not just the juice. I will definitely return for this product again. It is a very easy way to add antioxidants into my diet!

This batch was bad
Immediately upon opening I noticed a weird chemical smell. Must be a batch gone bad. My last purchase tasted absolutely wonderful, but the one before that was also bad. Hence, I won’t buy this product anymore. There are smoothie ingredients with similar or better ORAC values, like hulled barley.

Bad taste and smell
I love acai, but when this package arrived the acai had a very strong chemical taste and smell. I have tried drinking it mixed in a smoothie twice already but it’s such an awful taste that I think I will have to throw away and reorder elsewhere. Acai is great just not this one.
