Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

Kudos to the editors for an outstanding anthology!
Every morning, I read one poem as part of my morning meditation, alternating among different anthologies. “Poetry of Presence” is consistently the best of the bunch — the poems are simultaneously accessible and thought provoking. Many of the other meditative anthologies I own (in particular, those edited by James Crews) tend toward trite or cloying (how many poems about little children sleeping can one endure?). Whether it’s my head, my heart, or my gut, “Poetry of Presence” hits me hard every time and that’s what I’m looking for.If you are looking for poems to add to your meditation / spiritual practice, you will not go wrong with this book. It’s outstanding. Kudos to the editors!

Like a Restorative Yoga Class For Your Mind!
I didn’t know what to expect when I bought this book, honestly. I loved the idea of “Mindfulness Poems”, but frankly, didn’t even know exactly what that might mean. So partly out of curiosity, and partly out of a desire to support the nexus of art and mindfulness, I bought myself a copy. Now I read from it almost every day, using it as I once did a book of the I Ching, opening it at random and reading the first poem I land on. And they almost always speak to me, as if the writer had been reading my mind! I can’t always parse the literal meaning of the poem, but the words tend to bypass my brain and go straight to my spirit. I have bought five copies, now. One for myself, and four for my sisters and friends. For those who seek calm and want to reconnect with their spirit in this crazy, sped-up world, I highly recommend this collection of beautiful, heartfelt poems.

A book for lovers of poetry and those who hate poetry
This book has become a staple and an essential in my daily life. I have two copies in fact – one that i keep at home and one in my office. I use it both personally and professionally with my clients as my work is focused on bereavement, therapeutic writing and support groups for people living with cancer. This book has helped bring language to what is often unspeakable in our life. This carefully curated selection of poems cannot help but touch your heart and your life – They are enlivening, enlightening and engaging. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As i have read it, i have been reminded of Kim Langley’s book Send my Roots Rain, a wonderful companion to Cole-Dai’s book. Both are a must have and a must read.

One of the best poetry anthologies on my shelf
As a poet/teacher/writing workshop leader, I have greatly admired this anthology since it was published in 2020. (And now, with a second volume, there’s more to relish!) I so appreciate the inclusion of such masterful work both by poets I know and those who are new to me, not least Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer and James Crews. These collections have added a great deal to my life as a poet and writing workshop leader. It’s been delightful to purchase additional copies to give as gifts. They are always happily received.

Beautiful collection of accessible poems
These are the kind of poems I need. I can open the book to almost any of the 150 + poems and find words I need to be present, to be thoughtful, to be here, now. I’ve shared many of these poems in writing workshops also. The poems are by a variety of authors and most are less than a page in length. Lovely, useful book!

A treasure
This is a wonderfully curated collection of poems. I’ve started many mornings by reading a few each day and I’m grateful for the insights and wealth of wisdom the poets included here have offered within these pages. The selections turn you towards center. They are accessible, but with enough multi-faceted substance and truth to stay with you, making you more alive for the reading. I love finding certain favorite poets within these pages and also enjoy becoming acquainted with new authors whose works I will certainly follow now. Having been a subscriber to the project “A Year of Being Here” that inspired this book, I was so happy to see that Phyllis Cole-Dai and Ruby Wilson published a compilation. My first copy was a gift for myself, now it’s my favorite gifts for friends. Highly recommended!

Mindful poetry
Originally became familiar with these poems thru receiving one a day in my inbox for a year, as part of “A Year of Being Here” mindfulness project by the author. Those daily poetic missives were so profoundly touching & helpful in practicing mindfulness, that I (along with many participants) gladly encouraged her to publish them in book form, & happily purchased it for myself & to give to friends. This collection is unique in its focus, yet the poems span the range of time and subject and style. All contribute to a sense of attending to the real moments in our lives and being present to the human experience. Will be read & reread over the years to come.

This book’s poems are soul medicine, and just what I wanted for use in teaching my yoga classes. My students have often told me they love the poems I read aloud at the beginning or end of lots of classes, and Poetry of Presence has become a go-to book for me. For this year”s (2018) Valentine’s Day, when the editors made available through download a phrase or line from a poem to use as a glue-on to a chocolate kiss wrapper, I tried that idea, and got lovely responses.

This is a unique collection of poems… a call to walk towards your core, slowly watching each step.. being aware of each step in our journey in this amazing world…This book ought to be your constant companion. It gently guides you along the path of awareness, getting to know every nuance of life. What the Earth needs the most today is mindfulness and heartfullness. These poems leads you into that realm… reminding us that we are all part of the universal spirit. Heartfelt thanks to the editors for the care and love that went into this sensitive selection.

How wonderful to have poems from so many of poetry’s best in one book. How wonderful to discover new voices. These poems will help you find moments of stillness in a fast turning world. Keep this anthology within reach and you will be inspired daily to experience so much more of life.

I’m new to poetry and only just starting to explore it linked to some mindfulness teaching I’ve had recently. This particular book offers a gentle introduction and a good variety of different poems and poetry styles. Most people can connect with at least a few of the poems in this book the matter what level you’re starting up. I like the fact that this book offers poetry links to everyday living.
