Finally a truely squirrel proof feeder!!
I have purchased this feeder about a week ago and I just love it. I’m back here to purchase 2 more. I live on 3 acres of wooded land and I have a ton of squirrels that have defeated every feeder I have ever tried. After a week they are still trying but they have not been able to beat this feeder! Easy to assemble, easy to fill and holds a lot of seed. After a week of heavy activity I still have 3/4 of the feeder still full.My woodpeckers are back and goldfinches which were a rarity are now a common site several times a day! I’m using the same high quality seed, but they just seem to like this feeder better. I thought they might be able to chew through the cylinder but so far so good. That this is covered for life makes it a worthwhile investment. I just wish I would have gotten one sooner…I would have saved a fortune in bird seed.I’ve never been cheap on my feeders…always getting the best of what I thought was available and this feeder is actually less expensive then the last one they destroyed so I feel it is well worth the money. I have yet to take it apart, clean it and put it back together…I only do that once a month. If I find any issues with that I will update and lower my stars.I plan I purchasing several more for holiday gifts.UPDATE: I’ve had the feeder for about 4 months now. The squirrels gave up after about a month and don’t go near it anymore. I found that as long as I clean the feeders every month or so, the seed stays dry even though I don’t keep the feeder in a covered area like an overhang. CLEANING: it’s important to clean these feeders or else mold will accumulate by the feeding holes and can harm the birds. I found disassembling the unit very easy and although it can go in the dishwasher, it cleans so fast with hot water I just do it by hand. I know this next warning is wasted on the guys but I will say it anyway: GO TO THE YOU TUBE VIDEO on how to disassemble before you try to clean this or I promise you will regret it. Even though I had watched the video once I still forgot the trick about sticking your fingers in the feeding holes to release the tube for cleaning (when you see the video you’ll understand). Once taken apart it is a snap to clean and very easy to put back together. Just go the the Brome site or do a youtube seach on “How to clean a Brome birdfeeder”. I can say I am more than happy with the money spent on this feeder, it was more than worth the price tag and I highly recommend it.UPDATE: well I’ve had the bird feeders for over a year now and they continue to work wonderfully. The squirrels have given up on them although occasionally they pop by to try to foil them but are unsuccessful. The birdfeeders remain in good working order and they are very easy to clean. These feeders are worth every penny I paid for them.

We love watching this feeder all day, its’ so entertaining. It just got a small crack in the plastic after 6 years, so it held up to the blazing sun and heavy snow for 6 years, I’d say that’s worth the money. The squirrels can’t break in, so they just grab leftover pieces that the birds drop! Easy to fill too.

Brome bird feeders are the best
After buying cheaper alternatives, decided to invest in these Brome feeders. The engineering, quality, and attention to detail is incredible. Even the packaging and design is well thought out. You really get a sense of quality and pride in these feeders.And of course this carries over to the functionality. It prevents squirrels and larger birds from decimating the feed supply. They work just as advertised.Everything is built to be easily disassembled for filling and cleaning, and it’s all done in a very smart and efficient manner.Sure, these cost more than the cheap feeders at the local discount store. But these will be an investment that last, and will actually do what they advertise. Worth the investment if you’ve been frustrated by other feeders in the past.Now if they could only engineer a way to discourage the House Sparrows…

I love this Bird Feeder!
This is just an amazing bird feeder. I saw some cheaper versions at my big box store, but they are nothing like this feeder in terms of quality, customer support and overall longevity. The weight sensitive perch ring is perfect go keep critters out of feeder and even works for larger birds. For me, the Grackles swarm the feeder, but since this feeder allows you to set the pressure sensitivity, you can deter the larger birds. Now I have to admit, it doesn’t work perfectly because the Grackles are really smart and will fly up for a second and while they are essentially weightless, grab a few seeds. However, I don’t mind if they take some feed, just leave some for the other birds! It seems to mostly frustrate the larger birds and then they move on so a win-win for all.I’m also amazed on the product support. I haven’t needed to use it yet, but I did research directly on their website and you can get support and replacement parts for everything.This is our first bird feeder and we’re using waste free seed so there is no mess (shells) in our backyard. In just a few weeks we have seen over a dozen birds at our feeder like red cardinals, finches, blue jays and more. The Legacy model has a pole attachment to make mounting easy. I used a galvanized electric conduit pipe to mount it, but they also have a mounting pole you can buy from the same manufacturer. In my case, I needed a longer pole.

I have been purchasing this squirrel buster feeder for years. It is the best. It holds a lot of seed and since the feeder ports are all at the bottom, you don’t have to refill as often as other feeders. And since the ports will close with the weight of a squirrel, they are squirrel resistant. You can still have clever squirrels that can reach from a tree branch! Worth every penny. They also last a very long time.

Die Futterstation hält sicher lange.- Funktionsweise: Sobald ein größerer Vogel oder ein Eichhörnchen sich auf den Sitzring (oder auf die Sitzstangen, falls man den Ring nicht anbringt; ich empfehle aber den Ring) setzt, senkt sich der untere Teil der Futterstation und die Futterlöcher werden verschlossen. Große Vögel wie Eichelhäher oder eben auch Eichhörnchen suchen diese Futterstationen sehr schnell nicht mehr auf. Damit hat man die Möglichkeit, diese Vögel ggf. an einer anderen Stelle zu füttern und die “Kleinen” haben ihre Ruhe.- Schutz des Futters: Bislang habe ich mit Futtersäulen gearbeitet, an denen die Futterplätze übereinander angebracht waren. Als Regenschutz brachte ich eine Kuppel an. Trotzdem wurde das Futter bei Regen immer schnell schimmlig. Bei dieser Säule kann von oben her kein Wasser eindringen, ich wüsste nicht wie. Gleichzeitig sind die Futterlöcher unten eigentlich besser – als man das laut Abbildung denkt – vor Regen geschützt.- Reichweite des Futters: Meine Futterstellen sind gut besucht, da ich ganzjährig füttere. Trotzdem muss ich nur ein bis zwei Mal die Woche nachfüllen.- Reinigung: Man kann die Säule recht einfach auseinanderbauen, die Reinigung sollte damit sehr einfach sein. Sofern das irgendwann mal nötig sein wird. Bei der Art der Konstruktion sehe ich da so schnell keine Notwendigkeit.

The squirrels (one in particular) gave up after one day and now stay on the ground. I’m now going through less than half the feed I was before. The squirrel buster became my fourth bird feeder after squirrels ruined my other three. It is an outstanding product. Not only is it the only item that has at last foiled the squirrels, but the birds love the setup too. The perch ring is perfect for multiple species to land on and they seem to remain longer to feed, so I get to enjoy them more. There is definitely much more activity since I installed it and it looks durable enough to last whatever weather comes its way. I also love the extra large feeding tube as it means I don’t have to refill as often. Well worth the expense!
