The popular History in the Bible podcast is a guide to the historical stories in the Bible, for people of all faiths and backgrounds. It explores all the books in the Bible, and pays special attention to books in the Orthodox and Catholic canons that Protestant listeners may not be aware of. In over 200 episodes, it discusses the foundations of Judaism, tracing its evolution from a Canaanite religion to its modern rabbinic form. The podcast also investigates the early history of Christianity to the year 200, and examines both the gospels in the New Testament, and those that didn’t make the cut.
The show presents modern academic theories about all these topics, and how these theories were developed. The author is a bible buff, not a professor in the field, and discusses modern academic debates, when the professors cannot agree.
The History in the Bible Podcast Companion accompanies the podcast. Three of the books contain the scripts, one book for each of the three seasons. This stand-alone fourth volume contains a wealth of full-colour historical maps, tables, charts, diagrams, and timelines from the podcast website; visual material it is impossible to convey in a podcast.

Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

Companion to the podcast
If you listened to Garry Stevens’ podcast History In the Bible, you know that he provides visuals you can download and print. If you, like me, listen on your phone and don’t have a printer, you’ve been missing this component of Dr. Stevens opus. Since he’s not asking for patreon support this is our chance to show our appreciation for his podcast.

Wonderful!
I have listened to the podcasts from the beginning, but I could never find the website sources fast enough as the words flew by. I may just start all over again with this slim, inexpensive reference volume. Even without the podcasts, the sources and maps would be very useful for Sunday School teachers. Thanks, Garry!

I love the podcast – it has made me more interested in the Bible than ever before – and this is a great book to go with it. I like the lists and could spend hours looking at the maps. But I can’t wait for the other three books with the actual text of the podcast.
