I know a good 75% of the hymns contained within the book
This is chock full of classic hymns. I know a good 75% of the hymns contained within the book. Even so, there are 2 hymns that I consider absolute classics that are NOT included – Great is Thy Faithfulness and How Great Thou Art. What’s a hymn book without those I ask? 🙂 There are multiple hymns that are represented with 2 or sometimes 3 versions of the melody. On its own that wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing but I would certainly have preferred eliminating a duplicate or two in order to include those 2 missing hymns. While the printing might be a bit small for some a pair of reading glasses would fix that issue. The binding issue that others mention is definitely an issue. If this is the largest comb binding that you can get, I would have preferred 2 smaller books to the one big one that is difficult to use. Definitely worth the price.

I ordered this fake book because I was looking for music for a hymn I had known as a child and could not find it. That is until I looked at the ‘Song List’ for this publication. I was amazed at the breadth of manuscript in it and my amazement has not got any less now that I have received and used it.I would recommend this to any one who requires a good repertoire of sacred and gospel songs and music and I feel that, even someone who is in the process of learning an instrument would find it an asset.
