Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Product care

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

SOLAR PANELS 28W SOLAR PANELS 28W

This solar panel charger can’t store electricity, it must be placed in full sun outside, and then connected to your electronics simultaneously to start charging.

The maximum output of each port is 5V/2.4A, the real outputs are related to the sunlight intensity, temperature, angle, shadow, etc.

The Best Portable Solar Charger Reviewed by Wirecutter

” The BigBlue 28W USB Solar Charger produces the most power of any portable solar charger we’ve tested, and it has unique features that make it more versatile and durable, including three output ports (versus two on most other chargers), and an expansive but lightweight array of panels to catch every last ray of sunlight. Smaller and lighter than other options with similar output, so it can more easily fit into a camping backpack, hiking daypack, or emergency kit.” — By Wirecutter Editor

This solar charger can charge my cellphones at night?

No, this portable solar charger can’t store the electricity, you need to connect your device to the solar panel in enough sunlight outdoors.

Why the real output is different from the power claimed?

This product has 4 piece panel, each is 7w, so the power is 4*7w=28W; Theoretical output is 5V/2.4A Max for each port, 5V/4.8A Max in total, the total theoretical power is 5V*4.8A=24W Max. But there are loss in the solar energy conversion process.

What’s the auto-restart function?

Any cloud or covering arrives may knock the value of output down, but this folding solar panel charger can automatically recover to normal charging speed when there are enough sunlight.

This solar charger can charge Androids and Apple cellphones?

Yes, but our solar phone charger doesn’t include the lightning cable for iPhone or iPad.

Upgraded Triple USB-A Port: Each maximum output is 5V/2.4A and the total maximum current is at 5V/4.8A. BigBlue 28w solar charger allows you to charge multiple devices at once (Note: if one device requires a large current, the other two devices may not be charged). The built-in smart charging technology can provide optimal and 100% safe charging in direct sunlight
Used High-quality Solar Cell: The solar cells BigBlue adopted improve the solar charger’s durability by reducing heat buildup, making them more robust and less prone to damage, which extends their lifespan. Without metal lines on the front, these cells capture more sunlight, enhancing electricity generation and providing a sleek, modern design.
Higher Solar Conversion: Upgraded solar panels convert up to 25.4% of solar power into free energy in enough sunlight, which is the most durable panels at present, standing up to elements and wear and tear better than conventional panels. BigBlue uses a special polymer surface to protect solar panels from occasional rain or wet fog ( The junction box is not waterproof)
Portable Camping Solar Charger: With a folded size of 11× 6×1.4in and a lightweight (1.5 lbs) design, it is compact and light enough to fit into any camping backpack or hiking daypack. It is also a must-have for stashing in an emergency kit. BigBlue solar phone charger is a great option if you’re taking an extended camping trip or traveling somewhere with an unreliable power grid
Wide Compatibility: BigBlue USB solar charger offers a tiny power plant that can generate power for your phone (Android and Apple), power bank, speakers, and other small electronics to keep them charged when the sun is out (Note: we don’t provide the lightning cable for Apple devices). Our portable solar charger can’t store electricity and can’t charge laptops and power station
Package & Support: You will get a BigBlue 28W Solar Panel Charger, a 50cm USB-A to USB-C Cable, four Carabiners, a User Manual and our friendly customer service. Note: Any clouds, the angle toward sunlight, operating temperature and sunlight intensity will affect the real output, we don’t suggest you use this foldable solar panel inside of a window or windscreen

Honest review and some helpful advice.
A lot of people complain about the charge times or it not working. First it’s a solar panel, it’s not going to charge as fast as it would plugged into your car or wall. Second it works best when it is outside in direct sunlight, not behind glass, not in the shade, not in cloudy weather, IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT. It will charge if it’s not in direct sunlight, but much slower. Also it’s going to take longer to charge if you’re using your phone while charging. The more you plug into it, the longer it will take to charge everything. It also doesn’t help if you’re using a 12ft long cable. So keep in mind when buying this, direct sunlight, turn off the device you’re charging, charge 1 device at a time when possible, and use the shortest cable possible. It’s very useful to have. Good for camping, hiking, hunting, survival, emergency preparedness, or just being environmentally conscious. If there’s a reason why you can’t charge your phone from an outlet, this is perfect. The size is about that of two tablets/iPads stacked on top of each other or a small laptop when folded up. And about 3 or 4 tablets/iPads side by side when opened up. It came with some carabiners so you can attach it to your backpack, tent, a chain link fence or just about anything that would help face it in direct sunlight. It also has a little indicator light where you plug your USB cable into that lets you know if you are getting power, the brighter the light, the more power you’re getting. As long as you keep those few things in mind this solar panel is effective and super simple to use.

Used on 3-week sailing trip, worked great
Bought one of these in 2019 for a sailing trip in the Caribbean on which this solar panel (and it’s twin) we’re heavily used for 3 weeks to charge our various devices. It worked very well (even draw a little power on cloudy days) and kept us free of battery anxiety for weeks. We never had to use the boat’s power to charge our non-essential electronics, which very became important during our voyage. We found the trick was to use the solar panel to charge a power brick, then we’d charge our phone / ipad / cameras / whatever from that brick later (usually overnight). We used the provided carabiners to clip the panels to the awning and then we harvested the sunlight. My only complaint is the pocket in my model (for sale here) closes with a small strip of Velcro. You have to be very confident that your power brick / device is secure enough in the pocket to not fall out (no problem if you’re using the solar panel on the ground, but there was a risk on a boat!).The opening to the pocket is on the bottom, so if you clip the panel to a vertical surface (like your backpack), the thing you are trying to charge will likely fall out of the pocket. I went for a hike with the solar panel unfurled and clipped to my backpack, and had to keep the power brick / phone either in my backpack, or in my pants pocket while it was tethered to the solar panel via charging cable. It was an ok workaround. My friend brought her solar panel on the trip—also Big Blue, exact same size and specs—but her pocket closed with a zipper. Highly recommend that kind of closure if you intend to be actively moving (hiking / biking / sailing) with your solar panel!Overall, given how we needed to conserve power on the boat, this panel was an essential tool on our trip that we relied on every day for weeks, and it delivered!

    It works well!
I received my solar panel last night and i’m currently putting it to the test. @ exactly 9:49am, i hooked up my completely dead OnePlus 7 Pro (4,000mAh) (that i don’t use anymore) to the solar panel. As of 10:30am the phone battery is at 16% which btw is really, really good given the lack of direct sunlight due to the cloud covers skies. To give you a better idea of how cloudy it is, i can look directly(or indirectly?😅) at the sun without going blind; Well, kind of. Also, I think if i were to charge my iPhone, it would be at ~20% charge since it has a slightly smaller battery (~3687 mAh). I bought this solar panel for the purpose of using it at a camping festival i’m going to in 2 weeks. Needless to say, this will suffice! I’ll update this review as i test it over the next few weeks @ different times of day.Edit: Friday December 22, 2023 2311I took this solar panel to Lost Lands (camping music festival) and it came in so clutch! I brought 3 power banks just in case (10k mah, 20k mah, and 30k mah), but with the solar panel, I only had to use the 10k mah powerbank. I would use the 10k mah throughout the day/night (7am-3am) and then I would set up my solar panel on my tent and hook the power bank up. That way, by the time the sun came up, it would be charging and be ready to be used by noon. The festival was from Tuesday-Sunday. The solar panel was charging very efficiently and very quickly (in my opinion). On nights when I didn’t set up my solar panel before going to sleep, I would wake up early in the morning to set my solar panel up and hook my powerbank to it, then I’d head down to the showers and by the time I got back it was fully charged. (Shower lines were long so I’d be gone for roughly 1hr-2hrs). Also, there would be times when it’d get a little cloudy but, the solar panel still charged pretty well. Though, not as fast. Overall, super useful solar panel. Totally worth it for the price.

    Does charge an iPad
I have bought other smaller voltage solar chargers that claim to charge an iPad and smart phones. They charge phones very well, but do not have the ‘pure’ electrical charge needed for an iPad. This one however does. It looks well built and seems to be made with quality.

  6. Simon Lin

I received the panel on Sunday. found not charging any devices which I have ex. phone, pad, LED flashlight, and energy bank on sunny day. I gave up this device and returned it on Wednesday.

Materiales, calidad, presentación, portabilidad.Lo recomiendo mucho, tal vez por precio existan mas económicos pero este es de muy buena calidad, las celdas son muy resistentes.

I recently went on a two week remote fly-in kayaking trip and needed to get a solar charger for various devices. Of course, it’s always a trade off between function, cost and weight. This showed up on gearlabs webpage as the “best choice” and after reading reviews for awhile I gave it a go. Unfortunately, as you can see, there was significant smoke cover for most of our trip, as such it became clear it charges small devices very quickly in the light (iphone, watch, petzyl headlamp battery, most importantly garmin inreach), fairly quickly in the shade. But it had a hard time charging my bose waterproof speaker and the battery packs I brought with. But given the smoke, they would probably have taken a fair bit less time in full light (8-10hr for full charge in smoke). But we had occasional rest days and pulled out the charger at every paddling break and meal so we could make sure our emergency devices were charged. I hadn’t read fully about the waterproofing at the attachment sites so I didn’t test it while paddling or in the rain (see my drytop wrapped around the attachment ports when expecting rain). My paddling partner brought in a smaller device that wasn’t as fast with charging, did have multiple attachments but the cables were fixed so you couldn’t have two micros or two USB C at the same time (whereas this has 3 USB ports for any combination of attachments). Overall, I love this charger. It’s weightier than I’d like on a backpacking trip but for long distance outdoor events when you’re bringing bigger volumes, this is at the top of my pile. And I’m looking forward to using it in skies that aren’t under smoke weather warnings and evacuations….

Quality product. Easy to use. I get 2A current a sunny winter day in the middle of Sweden. Light cloudy and I am down to 1.5A. A medium cloudy day about 1A. That means that I should get 3A in the summer and promised 4A further south. Not bad. Everyone should have one of these at home. Highly recommended.

Lo adquirí para llevar en el velero y debo reconocer que es una gran compra. Orientarlo al sol, enchufar el altavoz o el móvil y a cargar super bien con la energía del sol.
