Love this good quality food scrap can!
Use it everyday. The nicely weighted stainless steel and modern design makes it look good sitting on the counter and it also fits well under the sink. Lid has charcoal filter inserts which can be used for quite a long time and are easily replaced. Strong handle makes it easy to carry over to my food preparation area, which may end up being in different places in the kitchen depending on what I’m making. I do place 3 gallon compostable food scrap bags inside simply because it’s easier for me to remove and tie and throw them into my organic recycle bin when full. I put a folded paper towel at the bottom before I put the new food scrap bag in, and at least rinse the can out and dry before putting a new bag in mainly because I don’t fill it up except every couple of days and some condensation from the bags can result. Takes only a minute. But using a bag is not necessary at all if you want to just dump the contents into the trashcan directly or compost pile if you have one, because the can is easily washable like any stainless steel pot or bowl. Lid is very tight so no smells are released plus never have had any unwanted creatures finding their way into it. Ordered a different brand/type originally that rusted. This one still looks brand new and it is one of my most-used kitchen accessories. Thank you!

Nice and Neat
Saw a silver container at my sister’s house. Price reasonable and beautiful, that I got one for my kitchen that matched my black appliances.It’s filter odor tight, compact with a nice design. It’s air tight, avoiding attracting ANTS. Blends perfect with knobs, and black faucet. Earth comp. friendly baggies to avoid washing.

Large capacity
I love the large capacity and functionality of this. Lid fits well but not tight so you can lift it with one hand, as usually the other is holding kitchen scraps. Charcoal filter in lid holds any smells. Attractive and sturdy stainless steel making it very easy to clean. Unobtrusive for a container that holds your baby compost materials.

This little bin looks good, doesn’t take up a lot of space, and controls odors. It holds a goodly amount of scraps so you aren’t constantly having to empty it. The only thing that is slightly inconvenient is washing the filter, it has awhward insets that holds the filters in place that are difficult to wash and dry. However I would recommend this product to a friend the benefits outweigh the inconvenience.

Cheap and awesome.
This thing is fantastic. It’s tall with a reasonably wide mouth. Somehow it’s high capacity without taking up too much counter space. I really appreciate that it is all stainless steel. Meaning, it will easily clean up with a run in the dishwasher. The top has a filter and fits loosely. I’m picky about smell and bugs and the top keeps the smell contained and there has been no gnat activity in the area of the bin. Overall, a huge upgrade from our old plastic bin. And it looks shiny on our counter top.

Much needed, especially in California
Finally after setting aside bowls and plates daily for so long. No longer do I have to tell my kid to put his apple cores in some random container that changes. Such a great price, I don’t know why I didnt get it sooner. As a family of four we will empty it into the green bin each day or now with this covered, filtered bin, it can be missed. The filter is larger than I thought it would be, which is great to cover all the smells! It looks good, matching the muted silver tones of our other kitchen pieces. It feels like good quality and definitely functional.Before it became a requirement in CA, we started composting–now that ut is a requirement, we put it all in the green waste bin since we never fully figured out how to make dirt. Still, its good to prevent greenhouse gases.

The stainless steel looks great in a modern kitchen as well as cleans up easily. The charcoal filter is very effective, no smells or fruit flies at all. Just be sure to remove the filter prior to sending the lid through the dishwasher. Lid is a bit difficult to remove with one hand, but this makes it secure too. So good that I bought one for my dad as well.

Sehr hübsch und super Größe.Nachdem ich mir die Rezensionen durchgelesen hatte, war ich etwas hin und her gerissen. Aber der Eimer entspricht absolut meinen Erwartungen und meinen Ansprüchen. Optisch macht er einen sehr hübschen Eindruck und vom reinigungsaufwand ist er super. Einfach auswaschen fertig.Den Härtetest hat er geruchsmässig ebenfalls mit sehr gut bestanden. Ich habe Essig-Gewürz-Gurken hineingegeben und ihn extra Tage lang in der Küche stehen lassen. Da kam gar nichts an Geruch heraus, erst wenn man den Deckel hoch nahm.Der Deckel hat im übrigen keine Gummilippe und schließt nicht dicht ab, denn es sind ja Löcher im Deckel, die mit der Kohlematte versehen sind. Es kann also gar kein Unterdruck entstehen, sodass man sehr wohl mit nur einer Hand und ohne Kraftaufwand den Deckel anheben kann, um mit der anderen Hand die Bioabfälle einzufüllen.Die kohlematte lässt sich mit etwas Geschick gut herausnehmen und die neue wieder einsetzen.Ich denke, wenn man etwas aufpasst, dass der Rand sauber bleibt und der Deckel nicht vollkommen schmutzig wird, wird der Eimer kaum Probleme bereiten und sehr lange halten.Da man ihn heiß abwaschen kann und er keine Unmengen hineinfüllen kann, muss man ihn sicher nicht in die Spülmaschine stecken.Als Fazit: meiner Meinung nach ist dies ein wirklich guter Komposteimer und sein Geld auch wert.
