Great in the classroom for student movement!
I bought this for one of my students to use in the classroom to help with movement and focus. elementary/4th grade. She loved it so much I let her keep it at the end of the year, and she actually wrote a letter to the principal the next year to request permission to use it in her new classroom! It held up great, was easy to get the hang of. I put a little mat underneath so I wouldn’t hear it hitting the floor tiles all day and that didn’t affect the ability to balance on it at all while cutting down on any noise. 10/10 would recommend this product, as well as this type of flexible seating or accommodation for your students with developed motor skills!

For Working at a Standing Desk
First of all, who are all these people who get sent a free $20 balance board? And why are all the reviews by paid testers on ALL the cheap balance boards (which I am 90% sure are all the same product, at least the wooden ones, rebranded)?Anyways. I thought I’d write a review because nobody talks about whether these things work for standing desks. I looked, and couldn’t find a satisfactory answer.I got a Steppie instead, for $100, and was disappointed–too easy to stand on, as it only moves side to side. I didn’t end up moving. It was okay, but didn’t help a lot. Maybe good for folks with poor balance. I’m young and pretty athletic, and wasn’t challenged. I got one of these afterwards–it was cheap, figured I didn’t have much to lose–and it actually works great. I work between 4-6 hours a day on it, and am in significantly less pain by the end of the day than when I was just standing or using the Steppie. It isn’t a work of art–it’s just plywood with a balance thing screwed to the bottom–but it’s comfortable to stand on in bare feet or shoes, and looks like it’ll hold up fine. So–yeah. I’d try this if you’re looking for a standing desk solution on a budget. And also, I looked at all the brands that sell these plywood balance boards–I’m nearly sure they’re all the same thing.

Does what it’s supposed to….
It’s no bosu ball but you get what you pay for. Bosu balls go for like 3 to 5 times the price as this thing so of course it’s not as good of a product. It’s still a great item and works very well. I find myself using it often ever since my sciatica got pretty bad. My back pain has improved A LOT in the past few weeks and I would like to think that this device played a part in that. I won’t give it too much credit though because I have really attacked my sciatica aggressively in recent weeks with a lot of other things that helped my back pain. I’ll make a list and put it at the end. Back to this wobble board, you can feel your core and stabilizer muscles working when you try to keep the board as straight as possible. If you stand on it long enough, you definitely notice muscles in your feet working as well. When I need more of a challenge, I put a hardcover book under the board and it allows the board to move further, making it harder to balance yourself. Make sure it’s a book you don’t care about too much because it will put a dent in it. A piece of 2×4 or something similar should work just fine. Here’s a list of things I’ve also done to help my back pain. I ice or heat my lower back, glutes and hamstrings almost every day. I walk about 10-30 minutes every day, depends on how I’m feeling and if I’m doing other leg workouts. I do lots of core workouts and yoga poses like planks(on elbows and with arms fully extended), mountain climbers, bird-dog exercise, McKenzie press ups (i can finally do and advanced cobra pose without back pain), floor leg raises and captain chair leg raises at the gym for abs, and swimmers kicks/supermans.I do lots of stretches and foam rolling as well. There’s a lot more but I have to get back to work. YouTube was a huge help. Check out Bob and Brad on YouTube, AskDoctorJo and a few other physical therapy channels

I have lower back and left knee issues from years in construction. Someone recommended I look into a “wobble board” to improve my core strength and to improve my balance.I got it because I had nothing to lose and after weeks of using it, I am impressed. When I have a bad knee day, I will spend 20 minutes on this before I head to sleep and my knee doesn’t bug me all night, where it used to keep me up before. I don’t know why it works, but my back and knee pain have definitely improved since I bought this. It’s also just fun to use! I keep it tucked away in the living room and my whole family tends to spend some time with it daily. It has also improved my balance. First time I stepped on this thing I kept rocking all over the place and had to hold onto something. Now I can balance on it fairly easily and usually just watch TV or look at my phone while I’m using it. Just takes practice and patience. I’m 200lbs as well, so it can withstand some weight, despite the plastic base.Only thing I would strongly recommend is that you use it on a carpeted surface. I read previous reviews and bought a little mat for it because I have all hardwood/linoleum flooring and I’m glad I did. The round, plastic base is very slippery. Without the carpet, it would just slide out from under me. Also, I found I need to either wear shoes or use bare feet only. With socks on, the surface is too slippery.
