Good little Christmas gift
I bought this for my dad since he now works from home and likes to do little artsy stuff at his desk. He already had a nice rake from a previous garden, so I can’t speak to how well that holds up/works, but it did not come damaged. I read about the issue with the sand but my dad didn’t use the sand anyway (he wanted to use sand he had picked up on vacation in the Bahamas or something). He liked all the little doodads that came with the garden and I picked up a tiny air plant and Buddha statue to match too. Good item for the price and a lot of different things are included.

I give this zen garden a 4/5. Personally, my only flaw with it is how shallow it is. You can not apply any pressure when raking in the sand, or you’ll easily get to the bottom and it is not the same feeling as raking sand obviously. The value for the money is great, as these zen gardens aren’t as cheap as you’d think. The bridge and rocks make it look really nice. If it weren’t for the super shallow sand, I would of gave this 5 stars. I think it would be a great gift for a kid or younger teen.

Small and shallow. Cute bridge! Buy an add-on set of rakes and smoothers.
First, this is very small and shallow. I was expecting the wooden box/base to be a bit deeper, as this is maybe 1/4-1/3” deep. The rocks are pebbles that you can find in your yard. The mini bridge is really cute and has some cool detailing on it. I’m not sure what the other mini thing is. I was looking for something that did not have a Buddha figurine included, and there aren’t many of these without one (as it’s a “zen” garden). I should’ve checked the dimensions if they’re included in the description because I would’ve gotten a larger and deeper one. I purchased this as one of the gifts for my husband’s birthday so that he could take it to work and put on his office desk. I purchased an extra set of gardening tools as this has only one rake (it’s different in color), as pictured. I recommend purchasing a set of those that will match the box. I got one with a holder and 5 different tools.
